An unlikely friendship forms between an opinionated New Yorker who lets a naive Mississippi runaway stay at his apartment in Manhattan.

After four films in Europe, writer-director Woody Allen returned to New York City for this comedy, originally written in the 70s as a vehicle for Zero Mostel. Allen’s amusing and neurotic vision found its perfect match in Larry David, who stars as the director’s surrogate opposite Evan Rachel Wood.
