  1. Elisa Mar's rating of the film Anticristo

Extraordinaria. Muy fuerte. Visceral, animal, descarnada...

  2. Melikaisha's rating of the film Anticristo

This is the most fucked up movie I've ever watched... and yet it's beautifuly made.

  6. Hunter Hemingway's rating of the film Anticristo

  7. Lucii Lugo's rating of the film Anticristo

fuck this thing. i need to wash my brain like literally

  10. emlomm's rating of the film Anticristo

  11. Thomas's rating of the film Anticristo

Intense, even by Von Trier's standards. A fiercely uncompromising, taunting rollercoaster of a truly visceral film experience. There is a plot, plumbing the depths of the human subconscious via themes of isolation, bereavement... and that's just the basic premise. Lavishly peppered with organic and animalistic sensual surrealism.

  13. Francesca Di Donna's rating of the film Anticristo

  14. Rocco's rating of the film Anticristo

The purest showcase of Von Trier's artistry, cynicism, and desire to provoke. I'd call it his masterpiece, but honestly I can't choose one of this manical genius' films over another.

  20. Zigge's rating of the film Anticristo

Such a brilliant film. Trier's genius, headstrong and somewhat insane. I just love the man. The film stays inside of you forever. That happy sad feeling. Melancholy is not the right expression. Nor "happy sad". It's plainly what it's all about. I wrote a long review of this film for IMDB, never posted it, tangled up in words.

  21. Cinexplorateur's rating of the film Anticristo

On assiste ici à un match entre deux principes: Homme-Christ-Civilisation-Ordre-Raison contre Femme-AntiChrist-Nature-Chaos-Folie. Misogyne?

The dedication to Tarkovsky makes sense in as much as "Eden" seems to be an inversion of Stalker & "the zone"; a sentient metaphysical space in which characters confront manifestations of their own private fears. In this instance, a couple marked by the loss of a child venture into a landscape capable of reading a person's psyche & projecting it against them. Where Tarkovsky was spiritual, Trier is existential.
