An unfortunate script and an amateur ends-over-means vision (it is uncomfortable to watch as the film trips over itself for the twist(s)) compromises this unremarkable small-town Stephen King imitation game, but has some minor victories: the lack of any big fault and an enjoyably hammed-up Antonio Banderas entertain, and it is good work done on the budget.
