FANTASMAS

The middle film in Christian Petzold’s Gespenster Trilogy (buffered by Die Inner Sicherheit and Yella from 2007) is another intimate drama about lost souls living emotionally numb lives.

The third theatrical feature from Christian Petzold finds his thematic preoccupations in full bloom. An intricate and emotionally compelling coming-of-age tale, Ghosts may be visited by specters of the past, but its tightly-woven mysteries will haunt the viewer long after its poignant final scenes.
