An imaginative Disney version of the Robin Hood legend. Fun and romance abounds as the swashbuckling hero of Sherwood Forest, and his valiant sidekick plot one daring adventure after another to outwit the greedy prince and his partner as they put the tax squeeze on the poor.

Enjoyable Disney feature despite its lackluster production values that serves as good fodder for the kiddies. Ustinov and Thomas memorably voice cast with a couple of good songs from Roger Miller especially 'Not in Nottingham'.
It's impossible to get an objective rating out of anyone who saw this as a kid--the sounds and images are permanently embedded with a strong flavor of nostalgia. As much as it's a cheaply produced film (the reused animation from The Jungle Book and The Aristocats is shameless), it boasts perhaps the finest voice cast ever assembled in a Disney animated feature. And what young girl didn't fall for that roguish fox?
My favourite Disney film as a child imbuing me with the left-wing values I have today! It may not have the most memorable characters outside of the raffish Robin and the petulant King John, but it has a super appealing watercolour painterly aesthetic and the best Disney song of all courtesy of a rooster simultaneously able to whistle and hum. It's cute and jaunty and probably caused many kids to grow up to be furries
