What a perfect way to end this story.
I grow up watching the tape of Toy Story... and now seeing this conclusion when I'm 20... It was absolutely lovely the way they did everything. Couldn't have asked for a better way to say "goodbye"!
Never understood the appeal of the Toy Story series that nostalgically exalts what its technology has willed out of existence and that its economic model of ever-increasing toy sales (of the mass produced Made in China variety with built-in obsolescence dates) could never uphold.
Perfect. An easy 5 stars. It is delightful, inspirational, hilarious, deeply-moving, and heartbreaking. A movie that moves as much as it entertains. In the end of the movie, it is almost impossible if we don't get melted. Anyone who doesn't found themselves smiling & deeply-moves probably isn't human. LOL. To infinity and beyoooondd!
Right on par with the previous two Toy Story movies. Great opening but dark as all hell. Felt more like an evil version of The Great Escape than a kids' movie. By the time it got to the furnace scene I was emotionally drained and equally shocked that this was in a kids movie. And despite the upper ending I felt like I was hit by a car by the time the credits rolled.
I'm well aware of the fact that I'm one of maybe 8 people in the world who thought this was only ok. Only found a few laughs and sure I got choked up at the end but I would have cried if the last scene had been a stand alone short. The rest of the film found repetitive and unengaging.
I've never seen a kid's movie where the protagonists accept death in quite so touching a fashion. That's gotta earn this bravery points if nothing else. But luckily the if isn't needed because this is one of the greatest pixar films yet.
A superb piece of work, it’s hard to believe a kids cartoon (and a sequel, no less) could be packed with so much genuine emotion, Pixar has once again outdone themselves. Funny, heartfelt, and masterfully-crafted. Don’t be put off by the Disney marketing blitz, this is a masterpiece.
