Mike is a sports reporter specializing in boxing, brilliant at exposing rigged matches. Marilla is an elegant fashion designer. With the verve of classic film story-telling, and aided by the Peck-Bacall partnership, Minnelli stages a comedy which tries to bring their two contrasting worlds closer.
