Photographer Sebastião Salgado has been travelling through the continents in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. Salgado and his work—instantly recognisable black-and-white photographs that have documented some of the major events of our recent history—are revealed to us in this documentary.

Before Pina, the sometimes-documentarian Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire, Buena Vista Social Club) crafted this documentary portrait of Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado: a prizewinner at Cannes that went on to be nominated for the Academy Award®. Co-directed with Salgado’s son, Juliano.
