“The reason 'My Bloody Valentine', after all these years, is still the iconic movie that it is, is that it didn’t follow any trends. It had nothing to do with the clichés, what 'Halloween' and 'Friday the 13th' set up. It wasn’t that. It was more of a whodunit, like Agatha Christie’s 'Ten Little Indians'. It was about working class people and their problems in life, and then this shit happens at the same time. That was what excited me about it.”
