Our take

Here’s a treat from the archives! The original jazz era Chicago, before the musical, before Ginger Rogers, a sassy silent melodrama. Co-directed by Cecil B. DeMille (who kept his name off it due to his Bible-based image) and restored in HD by our friends at Flicker Alley, it’s ripe for rediscovery.
