Our take

Few filmmakers could subvert Cary Grant’s refined, affable screen persona quite like Alfred Hitchcock. Told almost exclusively through the eyes of Joan Fontaine’s gaslit heiress, Suspicion serves up a masterclass in subjective direction that puts our trust in the genial leading man to the test.
