Can't help it...it is pure 80s perfection and the movie that, without a doubt, I watched more than any other as a child. I could probably recite this word for word. I can recognize its many, many flaws, but still can't help but love it in every way.
This is the quintessential 80s western. It's big, loud, dumb fun! Is it a bit cheesy? Admittedly it is, but that is a part of it's charm! Combining with an off kilter performance from Emilio Estevez and some truly imaginative moments of action. You've got yourself one hell of a good western right here. Is this a perfect film? Nope. But it isn't trying to be. This is just a wild, fun romp of a film.
A fun and suprisingly fairly accurate portrayal of the Lincoln County war and a vehicle to showcase some of the Brat pack of the 80s. A not bad at all western from a weak period for them. Emilio is having a good time and keifer shows some great range. Feel like this is the first movie where he stopped the sneering Nicholson impression and played vulnerable
