I came into this blissfully ignorant of the Whoverse - except my Whovian friends speak of this film in hushed and evasive tones. It's easy to see why: pacing issues aplenty, and every time a Dalek speaks - which is a lot - the film screeches to a halt. I got through by imagining this not as a Who, but a live action Disneyd, boozeless Dimension of the Rick and Morty Multiverse. Which may be valid (Ian is such a Jerry)
n 1965 Dr. Who was rebooted for two cinematic films that was meant to be a little more colorful and entertaining to create interest for non-fans. It retells the first episodes of the show with a more comedic tone. The Tardis and the Daleks are always memorable to see in any incarnation but The alien Doctor has been rebooted here to a "normal" grandfather and even the great Peter Cushing feel bloodless in the role.
