Our take

This mind-twisting thriller from Québécois director Denis Villeneuve is more modest in scale than his later big Hollywood films Sicario and Blade Runner 2049, but it is no less sinister or stylish. Adapted from Portuguese author José Saramago (Blindness) and inspired by Lynch and Cronenberg.
