Worthless sequel to Joe Dante's original film basically forsakes every aspect that made the first entry somewhat novel. Instead director Philippe Mora attempts to satirize the genre further but fails in the attempt. Scripting is quite awful matched by the casting and acting in its mediocrity. The effects are wanting to say the least. Should have ended the series instead of launching at least six more films.
If you thought the first film was great, then watch this "guilty-pleasure" sequel because it has the following: Christopher Lee & Sybil Danning, werewolf orgy, fine special effects, wicked cool 80's music by Babel, Gary Bradner also co-wrote his adapted screenplay from his novel, and Philippe Mora would direct another HOWLING film afterwards.
This is what happens when horror cinema meets Philippe Mora.
Werewolves meet lack of sense.
Christopher Lee meets lack of good sense.
Sybil Danning meets the absolute ridiculous.
Screenwriting meets lack of coherence.
Suspense meets lack of rhythm.
And we lose one hour and a half of our precious lives.
