Our take

Though he has risen to prominence for acclaimed feature-length films such as Dracula and My Winnipeg, Canada’s Guy Maddin remains a highly prolific, inventive virtuouso of a short film form. Here is one of our favorites: an outrageously deranged comic reimagining of Mexican melodrama.
