Our take

Shot by the great cinematographer Agnès Godard, a regular collaborator of Claire Denis’s, Sébastien Lifshitz’s Wild Side is an empathetic portrait of a transgender woman juggling multiple complicated relationships. The film’s bewitching opening features an early screen performance by singer Anohni.
