IMDb lists The Honeymoon Killers as a 1969 movie, even though it says the US release date was Feb. 4, 1970. But given the parameters of the game I guess that one should be stricken from my list.

Deep End
The Passion Of Anna
The Conformist
The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes
Loot
A Severed Head
Scrooge
Catch-22
The Out-Of-Towners

Good to see some more love for Bed & Board. It must be the most underappreciated of the Doinel cycle (hell, a user named Doinel didn’t even list it in his top twenty on the previous page).

Well, as many have already pointed out, it was indeed a good year. It was a real problem for me to narrow it down for number one. By the way, Ari, I too like Bed and Board, but as time goes by the Doinel film that means the most to me is the one I at first dismissed, Love on the Run, Truffaut’s most mature view of women.

1-The Go-Between

I Walk the Line
Le Cercle rouge (‘93 in the US)
Le Boucher
La Rupture
Claire’s Knee
The Twelve Chairs (“You aren’t fit to spit on!” You are! Ptui!“)
The Ballad of Cable Hogue
L’Enfant sauvage
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
Wanda
Domicile congugale
Too Late the Hero
The Music Lovers (”Tragic? You should call it Pathetic!“)
The Kremlin Letter
Start the Revolution without Me
Country Dance, aka Brotherly Love (”I seem to be missing part of my ensemble!")
Act of the Heart

Can’t wait for ’56!
