Many of the streamed films on netflix have slightly shorter running times than the versions on dvd. Do they cut out some of the films?
Streaming: 126 minutes
DVD: 130 Minutes
Streaming: 58 minutes
DVD: 80 minutes
Are you sure? It looks to me like they’re the same length as the DVDs. Play them and see.
I would say that maybe they are in PAL form, but I don’t get how black girl could be 58 minutes and 80 minutes…
they have screwed running times on quite a few movies, but it usually plays at the normal length.
Sometimes the disc playtime counts extra features, and the instant watch doesn’t include extra features.
yea for example, Nobody Knows- streaming runs for 310 mins and on dvd runs for 141mins…wtf?
Is Black Girl 80 minutes long? I remember it being about an hour, and I watched it on the New Yorker DVD.
Man, that film has a hell of an ending!
One issue that I have had with Netflix streaming is the bottom of some of the subtitles get cut off.. I can still figure out the dialogue, but it’s just kinda annoying. For instance, if it has the word “you” it may cut off the bottom of the “y” and it would look like a “u” instead. I tried to mess with my TV settings, but I couldn’t find any way to change this on my end..
if its a big enough problem, you can have the film delivered to your house. In any case, I have yet to watch a film streamed from netflix whose quality equaled that of a DVD. Although Paris, Texas and 35 Shots of Rum looked fine on my computer. I did not watch them on my TV. I watched The Red Circle on my TV, however, and the quality was not that good, but good enough to at least keep me occupied. Cleo from 5 to 7 looked pretty bad on my TV, as well.
