I remember being a kid, watching good animations and definitely Cars was one of the main titles from back then. And now we got part 3 but the feeling is not the same anymore. This new one doesn't have the core of the first one, still a slightly improvement over the second one which is good news. Cars 3 is very dynamic. The story isn't that great but in some moments things were really ok.Overall not boring. 7.25/10
While it takes itself more seriously than "Cars 2," it still has plenty of problems. It's still plagued with the corny gags and obnoxious characters the series is known for, and recycles the conflicts and morals of the previous entries. But, what bothers me the most is that the film is clichéd, contrived and overstated on a surprisingly insulting level. Pixar...this is beneath you.
Feels like a strong, if perhaps unintentional, metaphor for Pixar's post-Golden Age, which has seen the once acclaimed studio usurped by other moving, creative efforts by the likes of Disney and DreamWorks. Through its fairly repetitive sequences of training and mentorship, it finds its way back to the heart of its story that got muddled in a forgettable spy thriller that started the studio's aforementioned decline.
