We just love Takashi Miike’s gonzo cinema of violence, masculinity, and pop surrealism. One of the filmmaker’s finest achievements is the “Dead or Alive” trilogy. The first of these films is a dazzling yakuza spectacle that culminates in a truly singular ending.
