Really good film but a bit too much of a coincidence that this condemnation of Communism is being released in USA now, in the heat of the neo-McCarthyist frenzy. I am not a fan of the Soviet Communist party, but also not a fan of the American Duopoly or the New Red Scare.
A tense drama that uses its structure to great effect, revealing crucial information in an order and at a pace that allows us to continue to question the motivations of key characters right till the end. It has a few genuine subversions, and it's portrayal of fear and the abuse of power reminds me of Doubt. It's like 12 Angry Men crossed with Whiplash, but the teacher is less of a Fletcher and more of an Umbridge.
