An extraordinary sci-fi odyssey into a lava lamp of memory and imagination. The visual effects evoke the feeling of floating under water. I love the shift that takes place when we're catapulted into triangleland.
A disappointment to say the least, especially after some heralded it as better than the original. This is to my knowledge the longest short that Hertzfeldt has done, and I think it really got away from him. Some of it is beautiful and thought provoking, but it's also riddled with on the nose symbolism and easily some of his weakest gags. This film is the first of his that feels bloated and needs serious editing.
