Profile
We are seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our team in ​Kuala Lumpur​ as Accounting and Administration Manager reporting to the COO and responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and maintaining local finance procedures and accounting records.

Duties will include a variety of administrative, clerical, financial and managerial tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining and managing personnel records, and coordinating payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping and accounting with the group head office in the UK, and communicating and working with other members of the team, suppliers and distribution partners to ensure the day-to-day operations of the office run effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of the groups financial reporting and accounting system and develop and maintain procedures for local operations to effectively integrate with shared services in group head office.
  • Maintain records of local financial transactions by establishing accounting procedures, keeping records and posting transactions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements in Malaysia for accounting records.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information to group head office.
  • Coordinate processing the monthly payroll with group head office and make all local statutory payments and maintain all related records.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian GST regulation and file tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian income tax regulation and file annual tax returns.
  • Tag and monitor fixed assets.
  • Ensure that receivables from distribution partners are collected promptly.
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.
  • Maintain the petty cash fund.
  • Coordinate and work with external auditor on the annual audit of the local Malaysian entity and the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate and work with company secretary on the preparation and submission of the annual return.
  • Work with the COO and group head office on preparing the annual budget.
Education and Experience
  • Degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • At least two years experience in an office-based clerical or commercial setting including proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Working knowledge of the common software applications such as Microsoft Sheets and Google Docs.
Special Requirements
  • High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and judgment required.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong communication, administrative, and interpersonal skills to interact with partners, suppliers and other members of the team in a professional manner.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Analytical ability to gather and summarize data, find solutions to various administrative problems.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
