I couldn't disagree more strongly. With Hors Satan and Hadjewijch it seemed he had found a niche and intended to remain in it. With Camille Claudel 1915 he has emerged to reveal his ability to a whole new audience due to his subject, leading actress and his deft humanity. Here he observes a sense of nothingness as a naturally creative mind is extinguished in the cruellest way possible. A beautiful and quietly devastating film anchored by a riveting performance.
