My ex loved Rachel Corrie. They were polarizing. But if you perform a play like Accidental Death of an Anarchist or Waiting for Lefty now, well the only people in the house are going to be those that agree with the plays to begin with. Film can be more generic, maybe not art house which I think is why we aren't communicating, where plays are more distilled because it isn't how the public gets its information anymore. Yes, while they do polarize in the strictest sense they don't when it comes to the audience that is packing the house.
