A phrase from Gilbert Adair: the camera as “an eye for an I”- voyeurism, dreams, self, the inner I of the director. I could have settled on voyeurism, a popular theme in films; often we the spectators are implicated as voyeurs anyway. But i thought this could be extended a little to the very personal visions of some directors.
