In 1983 the well known West German Rock phenomenon Udo Lindenberg and his band the ‘Panik Orchester’ finally got permission to play at the FDJ-Peace Concert in East Berlin. Reinhold Beckmann, who was working as sound assistant for Westdeutscher Rundfunk at the time accompanied Udo on the tour.
