Originally opened in 1913 as a cinema in the Potsdamer Straße 96 in Berlin the venue was used for concerts from 1970 to 1989, run by Christa & Manfred Saß. Thanks to the collaboration of journalist/photographer Klaus Achterberg, who booked artists from 1974, a concert venue started.
