Engaged American couple Alex and Nica are backpacking through Eastern Europe. Upon arriving in Georgia, they hire a guide to lead them on a camping trek. Walking for hours, the three trade anecdotes to pass the time—until a momentary misstep changes everything the couple believes about themselves.

With its languid cinematography, Julia Loktev’s mesmerizing second feature takes us on a zig-zagging journey with a couple—played by Gael García Bernal and Hani Furstenberg—who have to suddenly confront the limits of what defines human relationships. What is left unsaid can be far more powerful.
