Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.

Our take
In this charming film from Marie-Claude Treilhou (Simone Barbès), three women—played by French acting royalty!—anticipate sharing a Chinese meal, their faces framed by lace antimacassars. Feast days are a prickly mix of past and present, and here tradition jostles amusingly with the new and untried.
