Our take

For her starring role in Arnaldo Jabor’s volatile drama, Fernanda Torres made history as the first Brazilian to win the Best Actress prize at Cannes. Circling a combative pair of former lovers, this tale of obsession bristles with an erotic charge, a flurry of torrid caresses, and heated quarrels.
