“[When it comes to writing] I try to keep it organic. I jump in and write a scene. I write two scenes around it. I listen to music; I make drawings sometimes; I live it. Of course, there's the more structural work, which comes after I've built up a certain amount of material. Some of it gets thrown out. Some of it stays.”
