“Andy [Kaufman] asked me on his death bed to do two things. One was to write a book about him and produce a movie about him. He was afraid of being remembered only as Latka on 'Taxi.' I tried for years to write the book. It was just too painful. If I'd go into a bar someplace and they had a 'Taxi' rerun on TV, I'd walk right out the door. I couldn't do it. Thank god ['Man On the Moon'] came along.”
