“Filmmaking in itself, it's impossible if you don't have personal reasons. When I applied to film school they asked me what movies I'm going to do, and why I'm going to do them like I do. I'm coming from lower middle class and I don't have these gangster stories [...] the pain and the sorrow, it seems like these kinds of stories kept on putting an affect on me and I'm still rapt around them.”
