“What I tried to do in every film is to create images that I haven’t seen before in Cinema. The year that I wrote ['The Heart'], I read a lot of feminist literature from the ’60s and ’70s, love and life stories from a female perspective, and I realized I hardly ever see this kind of stories on the screen.”
