“I learned violin from an early age and wanted to be a violinist, but eventually I switched my aspirations to ballet and entered Tokyo Ballet School. Then, when I was instructed by Ms. Messerel of the Bolshoi Ballet Company, I was told that "basic training in acting ability is necessary to do ballet", and in 1963, I was in the 15th class at the Haiyuza Theater Company.”
