“What I try to do with my films is to try to evoke some 'nationalism,' as with Km. 3 , where I tried to modernize the legend of La Llorona and bring it to a new audience. We have to modernize the stories, make them part of globalization and deliver them to new viewers. It is not about discovering the black thread, but about taking the very clear rules of the genre and giving them our distinctive touch to make films that contribute.”
