[lie in Donoso's] successful direction of the actresses (besides being very Almodovarian, and far from the temperament of a Divine, for example), her creation of the atmosphere radiating from this tranquil arcadia of freedom, and an imaginary trans world conjured from sequins, shines, boleros, colorful drinks, and wigs.
