Truffaut was one of the greats of the French new wave. He wrote the treatment for Breathless and magnificently debuted with The 400 Blows.

Anyone who worked with Truffaut could boast about working with him. Great actors whom he worked with include: Jean-Pierre Léaud, Isabelle Adjani, Catherine Deneuve (and her sister Françoise Dorléac), Gérard Depardieu, Jeanne Moreau, Julie Christie (pictured above), Claude Jade, Marie-France Pisier, Fanny Ardant, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Nathalie Baye, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Claire Maurier, and singer Charles Aznavour.
