My best films of 2013

These include films from all over the world that have not been widely released but have nevertheless been making waves on the film festival circuit. The top 10 are all award winners. My 11th best film is not yet recognized by MUBI—“Almayer’s Folly” (2013) from Malaysia and hence cannot be listed.
