MY PERSONAL 100 BRITISH FILMS

Inspired by Time Out’s fascinating industry-voted 100 Greatest British Films (of which I agreed with an impressive two-thirds) here’s my own personal list of 100 British films which mean the most to me.

I also appreciated Time Out’s decision to let the voters decide what they considered to be British (an area of much debate) and if enough people decided a film to be British, it made the list. Similarly, the inclusion of television films (from Mike Leigh, Peter Watkins, Alan Clarke) only made the list rounder and more impressive. I take the same wider approach to British films with this list.
