The Obligatory Top 100

One film per director; organized roughly by decade. Obviously limited by my own subjective preferences and still-marginal knowledge of cinema. Most decades from the 30s onward have between ten and fourteen films each, and since I was trying to balance the list among the decades, rather than representing, er, good taste, this turned out a little bit differently than I expected. I’ll probably revise it every so often.
