According to a book published in 2006, edited by Scott Hocking, that I bought in Melbourne in 2007, which collates the choices of various critics and other people related to Australian cinema. It introduced me to a lot of interesting films, relatively few of which I’d seen and many of which I’d never heard of at the time, often exemplifying the quirky, sometimes slightly bizarre quality that I love in most of my favourite films from a country I have strong family ties to.

A few are listed in the book under different titles, hence the ordering:

Eureka Stockade (Massacre Hill)
Evil Angels (A Cry in the Dark)
Spotswood (The Efficiency Expert)
