From 1922 to 1934, the Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers (WAMPAS) each year chose thirteen unknown movie hopefuls as WAMPAS Baby Stars, the most promising newcomers. Much media attention was provided, and some of those chosen did have exceptional careers in film. Others are unknown today to even the most avid fans.
