Created in London by the Chinese multidisciplinary artist Tim Yip, Love Infinity looks at the dynamic cultural ferment and unique atmosphere of London’s East End. With a long history of working-class community, East London has become a mecca for creatives and this documentary focuses on a range of iconic artists and designers who have made this place their home. Vivienne Westwood, Gilbert & George, milliner Stephen Jones, sculptor Andrew Logan, conceptual performance artist Pandemonia, “living sculpture” Daniel Lismore, and comedian and drag queen Jonny Woo: these are just some of the artists and bohemians whose paths have crossed or run alongside each other on the buzzy streets of East London. Melding documentary and fiction, Love Infinity is above all an ode to one of the greatest cities in the world, proving the often-quoted adage that whoever is sick of London is sick of life. Filmed over the course of two years to the backdrop of a city experiencing enormous political, social, and economic upheaval, Love Infinity suggests that creativity might show us a way out of the darkness.
