During a thunderstorm, Greek alcoholic Maria, her English husband, Paul, their small daughter Judith, and traveling companion Claire seek refuge overnight in a small Spanish hotel. While drinking Maria observes Paul and Claire embracing on a balcony and is strangely excited.
