Synopsis

A male Parisian driving school owner who goes to see his doctor and complains of feeling run down is pronounced four months pregnant. When the diagnosis is confirmed by a specialist, the result is an international media frenzy.

Our take

This exuberant comedy by Jacques Demy stars Marcello Mastroianni as… a pregnant man! Joyful, colorful and with a score by Michel Legrand, this is pure Demy at his most farcical, but also at his most metaphorical, emphasizing a need for change of attitudes towards gender roles and families.
