Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.

Synopsis

Intrigued by the unusual names of twenty cities in Brazil, filmmakers Cao Guimarães and Pablo Lobato decide to visit them for the first time. Structured as a poem compiling their impressions of places like Between Leaves or Watery Eyes, Accident explores the landscapes and people of their country.

Our take

Journeying through numerous cities, Cao Guimarães’ psychogeographical exercise is poetic yet playful. From motorcycles speeding through the streets to shadows shifting under the summer sun, every minute detail is observed with equal poignancy, unveiling a Brazil detached from touristic voyeurism.
