Summer 1890, Anton Tchekhov is a modest doctor, and to earn a little more money, he writes short stories for newspaper. His talent was noticed, and he wins prizes. But when his brother dies of tuberculosis, he remembers his promise, and decides to go on an island to meet some convicts.
